Play custom maps with friends by uploading a map's .vpk file to your Counter-Strike 2 server and loading it from the console.
¶ Before you start
- A Counter-Strike 2 server with Gravel Host. No server yet? Get one here
- A custom map
.vpkfile, downloaded from the Steam Workshop or GameBanana. - The developer console enabled in Counter-Strike 2 (Settings > Game > Enable Developer Console).
¶ Steps
¶ Upload the map
- Find a map on the Steam Workshop or GameBanana and download its
.vpkfile. - In the panel, open the File Manager.
- Go to
/steamcmd/cs2/game/csgo/maps/. - Upload your
mapname.vpkfile to this folder. - Restart the server.
¶ Load the map in game
- Join your server and press
~to open the console. - Run
changelevel mapname, replacingmapnamewith the name of the.vpkfile you uploaded (without.vpk).
¶ Check it worked
The server switches to your custom map after the changelevel command.
