Install a whole modpack on your server, either in one click from the panel's modpack browser or by uploading a server pack yourself.
¶ Before you start
- A Minecraft Java server with Gravel Host. No server yet? Get one here
A modpack replaces your server files. Download a backup first if you want to keep anything.
¶ Steps
¶ Option 1: The modpack browser (recommended)
- In the panel, open Modpacks from the left sidebar.
- Search CurseForge, Modrinth or Feed the Beast and click Install on the pack you want. The panel stops the server, installs the pack and sets up the startup command for you.
- Start the server.
¶ Option 2: Upload a server pack yourself
- Find a modpack on CurseForge that has a Server Pack and download it.
- Extract the server pack on your computer.
- In the panel, delete your previous server files. Then upload the extracted files with an SFTP client such as FileZilla. New to FileZilla? Watch the connection guide and the upload guide.
- Open Startup and choose the Java version under Docker image:
Java 21for 1.21 packs,Java 17for 1.18 and newer,Java 8for 1.12 and older. Click Save.
- Start the server.
¶ Check it worked
The server starts and the Console shows the modpack's mods loading with no crash.
¶ Troubleshooting
¶ The server will not start after a manual install
The startup command may not match the pack. Open a ticket or ask on Discord and we will set it up.
