Join your ARK: Survival Evolved server from the in-game unofficial server list, through Steam favorites, or directly from the console if it does not show up in the list.
¶ Before you start
- An ARK: Survival Evolved server with Gravel Host. No server yet? Get one here
- Your server's name, and its password if you set one.
¶ Steps
¶ Option 1: The unofficial server list
- In ARK: Survival Evolved, open the unofficial servers list.
- Search for your server by its name.
- Turn on the Show Player Servers filter.
- If your server has a password, select Show Password Protected Servers. If it does not, keep this unchecked.
¶ Option 2: Add your server to Steam favorites
- Copy the IP address found in your Control Panel.
- Open Steam, then go to View > Game Servers in the menu in the top left corner.
- Click Favorites (+), then Add a Server.
- Enter your server's IP address and click OK.
- Click Refresh. Your server should appear in the list.
- Double-click the server, or click Connect. If your server is password protected, enter the server's password.
- If ARK is already open, tab into the game. If not, the game launches and connects you to your server automatically.
¶ Option 3: Direct connection with the console
Use this if you do not see your server in the list.
- In game, open the console.
- Type
open SERVERIP, replacingSERVERIPwith your server's IP address, and press Enter. If the server has a password, useopen SERVERIP?Passwordinstead, replacingPasswordwith your server's password.
¶ Check it worked
The game loads the map and you spawn on your server.
¶ Troubleshooting
¶ My server is not in the unofficial list
Check that Show Player Servers is on. If your server has a password, also select Show Password Protected Servers. If it still does not appear, use Steam favorites or the direct connection method.
